How cool is this? I love it. This is the best localism ever!!!! Very cool!
Thanks, Andy. Did your son end up with a place off campus?
Thanks, Larry. I am really excited about this challenge because I haven't done localism much before, so I love that it will get me in the mindset.
Great Localism post Mimi. So well written and presented. Anyone reading this will surely want to visit this great home and know exactly what to do once there.
Mimi, Beautifully done! This was also perfectly timed, with the FREE Friday Tour offer being started tomorrow. The additional links to the McAllister House Museum and The Carrage House were also appreciated. I'll bet this house has a lot to say, if only those walls could talk. ;-) Best wishes always.
Thank you so much, Martha. It is a fantastic place, and the Docents do a wonderful job with it.
Richard, Richard, Richard . . . thank you for your comment. I will have to do some "Talking Wall" posts during this challenge :) Actually, they had a paranormal team come in and do video, and had quite a bit of activity. It was kinda cool. Lots of history with this house
That looks like a cool spot to visit Mimi. It's a very charming home and post.
I'm not sure I'd want to "hear the walls" talk, but I agree with Richard, I'll bet there would be some great stories.
Lovely piece Mimi.
Thank you, sweet Debb . . . Richard was talking about a section on my website called Talking Walls, where I tell the history of some of the homes downtown. People who own old houses want everyone to know about who built it and who lived there, etc. I find it fascinating . . .
Good morning beautiful lady. I love the thorough localism post and that is a cool looking home. I bet it is beautiful inside. They have some around here too. Have yourself a great holiday weekend.
Mimi - you're off with a bang and what a great localism post. The McAllister House Museum looks like such an interesting way to spend the day, while learning about the home and town's local history. I live close to George Washington's head quarters and it's a really cool place to visit - maybe I should do a localism post on it - thanks for the idea!
Next time I am in Colorado Springs I am going to stop in and check this out. let's hope I am passing through on a first friday.
Hello, dear Sharon. Inside it is a combination of beautiful and rustic. It has 16" thick walls, and was struck by lightning about a month ago, but survived quite well. You too, sweet friend.
I used to live at the base of Mt. Vernon, Kristine, and we used to sit on the fence all the time and dream about what life must have been like (yes, I've always been a romantic at heart :) ). Think it is a great idea! I'd love to hear about it. Didn't think you were going to do the Contest, but no reason you can't get some good local posts in. Sure thinking about you and hugging you.
Mimi, elegance is as elegance does. This reminds me of a tea room, and that's odd because I've never been in one. It's very charming and beautifully narrated, in your inimitable style. Brian
Talking Walls...That's cool, now I'm going to check out your website-that Richard is sure a thorough one isn't he? Especially when there's a beautiful lady involved. :)
Aha! He hit the right link...:) :) :)

What a great localism blog and I had no idea you were so close to my niece!
Mimi, what a great localism post! The McAllister House sounds like a special piece of history in Colorado Springs. Hope you have a wonderful day! --Krystal
What a cool looking building! I love it!!!!
Good morning, Brian . . . I love it when you talk dirty like that ;)
Debb . . . that Richard doesn't miss a beat, does he? If you specialize in Victorian Homes, doesn't the idea of Talking Walls make a lot of sense? And a lot of fun?
