After a several month discussion,  NC has given it's approval for CMC  (Carolina's Medical Center) to build an Emergency Care Out Patient Complex in Harrisburg!!

This urgent care center will have, basically, everything a hospital would have, but it will not have beds.  The proposed site for the complex is the corner of I-485 and Rocky River Road, across from the Brookdale Shopping Center.  It should be open in late 2008 or early 2009.

This is fantastic news for Harrisburg.  People are relocating to our region with many different needs.  Quality medical care within a reasonable distance is of the utmost importance to many families.  This center ensures that quality care is 'right around the corner.'  Partner that with CMC University and CMC Northeast Medical Centers within 15 minutes of Harrisburg, our city will now be able to offer even better piece of mind to those folks looking for a peaceful, comfortable quality of life in a hometown atmosphere.
