Austin in the summer means a few things. Barton Springs Pool to escape the 100+ degree heat. Visiting Lake Travis, and the Paramount Summer Film Series. The Paramount and State Theater concludes its film series every year with mutliple showings of Texas classic Giant, and the annual summer finale of Gone With The Wind.

Giant will have a special meaning this year, with the recent death of megastar Elizabeth Taylor. The weekend kicks off early with a Thursday showing of Giant, to be followed by times on Friday and Saturday as well.

The Austin Paramount Theater will conclude its 2011 Summer Film Series with three showings of Gone With The Wind. The American Classic stars Clark Gable, Vivian Leigh, and lots of Atlanta. Come escape the cold weather with a lot of drama this weekend at the Paramount.

Check the Paramount Website for all available movie times.

I love Gone With the Wind, but I don't live anywhere near Texas. I guess, "I'll worry about that tomorrow."

Scott, I do love that movie.  If I want to watch it, I'll have to see if we can get it on NetFlix.
