Agent Offers To Submit "Ghost Offers" (fake offers) To Delay Foreclosure

The wonders never cease.  I was cruising Craigslist today and noticed an advertisement by a person claiming to be capable of amazing, inconceivable things to assist homeowners in fear of foreclosure.

Here's an excerpt from the ad...

Unscrupulous Agent Ad
___________________________________

Among other things, this person claimed that they could delay foreclosures by submitting fake offers to the bank with the short sale request.  You've heard of bank fraud... this is a whole new way to defraud the mortgage companies and mortgage servicers.  I don't know if this is criminal behavior, but it definitely falls under unethical behavior.

The next question that came to mind was, "Is this person a licensed real estate agent?".  If so, I'm certain the DRE would be very interested to know of this behavior.  I emailed to ask... the answer was quickly returned, "Yes" and I can help you with all of your short sales, save you time, etc.

HOLD IT RIGHT THERE SISTER!

Not only can you not help my team with short sales (of which we have 20+), you cannot do what we do, as well as we do, as successfully as we do.... What you do is something that would cause the Department Of Real Estate to relieve you of your license if they knew.  I'm sure someone will notify them soon enough.

Thanks for stopping by James.  If I had to guess, I'd say it must be illegal according to some law somewhere.

Cameron, wow! There's so many of us, I wonder who that could be?!! I'll take a look on Craigslist. It's unfortunate to have these agents ruining it for those of us who want to do short sales honestly.
