It's great to help someone get their issues resolved and stay where they wanted to. While we don't get paid for not getting the sale, the payoff is greater in helping another out. It will come back to you one way or the other, and not necessarily from them.
You absolutely did the right thing and beacause of that, you will gain much more.
I wholeheartedly agree with you and am proud to be a part of an industry that has real people in it. We all know the ones that aren't, but, thank goodness they are few and far between. You should be very proud to be a champion in the eyes of that grateful family. Much kudos to you...

Spoken like the true professional that you are ... as always! How good it is to know that there are people like you in this business. And you didn't lose a listing you gained a life-long raving fan that will bring you lots of business, but you knew that!
I am glad to see that there are others out there with the same mind set that I have. I have always believed that if you are willing to work hard and do the right thing then you will succeed. If you are one that just focuses on the money then people will see through you and it will be much more difficult to succeed.

It really is important to give people all the options so they can save their home if possible, but then be there is they need us.
Nicely done Tish! I find that most realty agents I have been in contact with are in the business of making people happy.
However, there are a few out there who only see the dollar signs and they ruin it for the rest of us.

Sometimes real estate is not for profit. It's peoples lives that are for profit. You gave these folks lots of profit by keeping them in their home.

So many agents are in the business for all the wrong reasons. While making money is important, the most important thing is that you make good connections and a good reputation.
