Want Food with that Sonoma Wine?
If you love Sonoma wine AND great food, this is the time to visit Wine Country. Both wine and food are the focus of the fourth annual Wine Country Weekend which starts Friday September 2nd and runs through Sunday, September 4th. More than 200 wineries and chefs are struttin' their stuff at locations all over Sonoma County's wine growing regions. You won't possibly be able to be everywhere over the next four days but if you want to know where and when things are happening you can check out the official website right here: 2011 Sonoma Wine Country Weekend.
The main events include winemaker lunches, winemaker dinners, the Taste of Sonoma (already sold out), winery BBQ's and the granddaddy of them all---the Sonoma Valley Harvest Wine Auction on Sunday September 4th.
Tickets for many of these events are selling fast---some are already sold out. But there is still time to join oenophiles and foodies if you want. If crowds aren't your thing and you want to participate from afar, you can BidOnline for 44 items that are being auctioned at the Wine Auction. Proceeds benefit many great organizations in Sonoma Valley including the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, the Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma Valley, La Luz, and the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation. It'a great weekend to wine and dine yourself and others in Sonoma Wine Country!
