Power Restored to Most of Black Rock

By
Real Estate Agent with William Raveis Real Estate RES.0772823

While many communities stlll have power outages, electricity has been restored to most homes in Black Rock.  As a safety precaution, I'm not going to post the addresses or streets without electricity.  Please call UI every day that you are without power and leave a message so that they are aware.  The phone number to report an outage at UI is 203-499-3333 or 1-800-722-5584.

If you see suspicious activity, call the Bridgeport Police on their non-emergency line at 203-576-7671.  In an emergency, of course, call 911.  Also contact your Block Watch Captain.  Block Watch information is available on the Black Rock Community Council website.  Please feel free to contact me to let me know if you or someone you know still does not have power and I'll keep a running tally and contact City Officials.

Gail, a lot of people are slowly getting their power back, but still many without it.  Those without power must be climbing the walls by now.

Great, now most of the people have a power back!

One time, after hurricane we did not have power over 8 days! It was fun - a lot of BBQ for dinner!

Power is being restored in Westchester as well - I feel so sorry for those who are still out.  It really impacts people's ability to function and WORK.  On the bright side - a friend of mine has had a 4 day vacation - unexpectedly.  Her office is out but her home  has power!

Phew.  Glad you have most of your power back, Gail.  I don't know how people functioned without electricity.....

George - I can't imagine what it would be like to go a week without electricity.  I was going up the wall by Day 2.

SIB - I guess you are used to it in FL.  No air conditiioning must be difficult though

Ruthmarie - Your friend has the ideal situation.  For those us who are self-employed, it's just a hardship.  I had a client who just HAD to make an offer on a home during the storm.  We'd been talking about the offer since June.

Jane - We've become so dependent upon it.  Thank heavens for cell phone service.
