Even YOU can blog about local news and events!

Real estate agents, home inspectors, and mortgage lenders always have something to blog about.

  • new listings
  • new solds
  • open houses
  • short sales
  • foreclosures
  • financing fiascoes
  • horror stories about home inspectors and the home inspection
  • mortgage lenders and how they wouldn't finance our A+++++ Client
  • other real estate agents, like the one who took the key just 15 minutes earlier and kept me from having an open house. Should send her the bill for all the work and advertising I did, not to mention the goodwill that I possibly lost from some prospective Clients.
  • safety tips
  • maintenance tips
  • how the real estate agent didn't show up on time.
  • current interest rate
  • financing requirements
  • changes in financing requirements

The list is endless, especially if you include local news and events.

If you are one of those who find yourself at a loss for blogging mateiral, look to local news and events. If you find it difficult to talk about the same thing over and over and over again — perhaps a stager, attorney, accountant, or an estate services company, try this tactic:

Create a 60-second speech or commercial, write that down, beautiful it, and make it your blog signature. Then you can do lots of localism posts, and under each of those you'll have your signature, which is your 60-second commercial. I bet it will work wonders for you.

My signature looks like this:

Jim Signature

I could post a one word message that said "Boo!" and if Mary Lou does a Google search for her high school boyfriend Boo, up pops my blog post. She thinks I'm so creative that she tells her mom and dad, who want to downsize into a Mission Valley condo now that all the kids are gone!

Of course, this only works if you have a Rainmaker account, and if you don't have a Rainmaker account, why not?

Rainmaker status is no longer free for new member, and this could be why many are reluctunt to embrace the paid option.

Jim,  Great advice.  It is amazing how the magical google juice works for us.  With the localism challenge this month, we should see lots of fun posts.

Hey Jim,

I like the idea about the signature. I will have to think about that for me personally. I now understand the musical notes after seeing you play the piano earlier this week on Russel's post. The notes fit very well with you.
