Today, as in EVERY day, I have much to be thankful for.  But this day I am particularly thankful to have received word that my son, a member of the Idaho National Guard, 116th Calvary based here in Post Falls, Idaho, is FINALLY on his way home from a year long deployment in Baghdad, Iraq!  Members of his company have been joyfully arriving back in the USA this past week, and he is literally one of the last to leave for home.

It may still be a while before I see the whites of his eyes.  He is headed to Ft. Lewis, WA and will be there for an undermined length of time for out processing.  But just knowing he is en route home is such a huge relief. 

May God continue to bless America, and these men and women who have sacrificed and endured so much for their country!

Janna, Just reading your post almost brought tears to my eyes.  Our son did two tours of Iraq and I sooooooo remember waiting for him to get home.  He is now out of the Army and a Senior at Texas A&M.  Thank your son for his service to our country.  Freedom is not FREE!
