As we live in our homes we form an emotional attachment. When we look at a room we see the room and all the memories we have created there.
This leads us to look at our home through Rose Colored Glasses.
When you decide to sell your home, it is time to take off the Rose Colored Glasses and look at your home objectively. This is important if you want to get the equity out of your home to use on the next one.
The buyers will not be wearing any glasses. To them there is no emotional attachment. It is a product and one of many they will look at during their search for a home.
Try taking digital photos of your rooms. It may also help to go through some open houses and note what sort of things catch your eye. Then, go home and walk through your home again and see if you find any of the same issues.
Need help? Contact a Realtor and/or Stager to take a look at your home.
We see many homes and know what appeals to buyers. We can advise you on what type of buyer your home will attract.
It is our job to maximize a home's appeal so that the seller get the best ROI possible.
We Professionals want a win win outcome. The Seller gets the equity out of their home. The Buyer gets a sound product.
So take off those Rose Colored Glasses and Win!

Hi Gene, thank you for reblogging this, this is an excellent post on the advantages of staging your home properly to sell.
I think Janice is so right. Sellers need to look at their home as the buyer will not as the seller sees it.
She did a really good job with this post and she has another one I am doing a reblog on too.
