Maya Angleou "The People's Laureate Poet" returns to Santa Barbara on Friday, September 9th, at the Arlington Theatre. According to scholar Joanne M. Braxton, as "America's most visible black female autobiorgrapher". She is best known for here six volumes of autobiographical volumes detailing her childhood and early adult experiences. Her first book was "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, and it tells the story of ther first seventeen years.
