4 Comments on What's All the Noise? New Noise Ordinance in Towamencin Township PA
Good morning. Well, it's kind of sad that one person or groups inconsideration led to an ordinance being passed.
However, in my opinion the true value of this post is that it stresses the importance of staying involved in your community and being aware of what the elected officials are doing.
I truly believe that most elected officials are trying to do the best for their community. However, if they do not get feedback or if people do not care enough to stay informed, what are they supposed to do?
Gina, great post and suggested. I agree that it is important for residents to stay involved in their community and no what the elected officials plans are for the community.
Sondra and Rebecca,
That really is the gist of what Gina wanted to convey to consumers. She was really taken aback by the ordinance as she lives adjacent to the high school and has had to put up with all kinds of noise (marching band, soccer games, football games, graduation, etc).
What prompted this article was just a few weeks ago we had a going away party for our daughter and the party ran late with teenage boys playing basketball in our driveway and adults having a few drinks on the back patio with some music playing, well sure enough the cops showed up to tell us about the new noise ordinance... :) It was only 10:30 on a Saturday night. Gina couldn't help herself quizzing the cops about the ordinance. Gotta love Gina! (For the record, the cops were very apologetic and did not fine us).
