dead end road

Dear YouTube - do you think you could come up with some more categories for videos?

Now that video is dominating the internet and everybody and their dog is uploading their movies.... don't you think it's time for a broader range of topics?  This is so 5 years ago.  Am I missing a plug-in or something?

Can I suggest a few?

  • House & Garden
  • Real Estate
  • Parks & Nature
  • Locations & Neighborhoods
  • Boats
  • Aerial Photography
  • Underwater Photography
  • Weather

Can you think of some more good categories for videos besides this short list they provide?

Agreed... they need many many more considering how many videos they have.

Great Idea. How should I be categorizing my real estate videos anyway?

Hi Georgina - I wonder if Google will read this post.  It will certainly be indexed by them.

Say it, Georgina.

For people who Rule the World, Google/YouTube can sometimes be completely out of touch.

If you can get this idea across to some "Players" in the Industry, perhaps they will expand the List.

Real Estate would definitely be a good one.  I wonder why the categories are so limited?

Thanks for your comments.  I think nobody is paying attention to that department, and too busy with innovations.  I never know where to put my videos and sometimes I'll just put them in a goofy category for the hell of it.

In web time-five years is a lifetime. No doubt more categories would be nice.

I guess we could all come up with something... but my mind is jelly right now...first day back from vacation.

I have the same question. If I post it's on Travel & Events, and then there's like People or something like that. lol

I think nobody is paying attention there, but a Real Estate category is long overdue.

Georgina- SUGGESTED! I could not agree with you more. My company has just started putting all our listings on YouTube - a great idea in theory, but without the proper category (ies) it is going to be a bit tough for the average buyer to find the right video to watch. One thing to have the video, another to have it watched!!

Hi Georgina, I don't think they ever listened to your request, unfortunately.
