I love the community of Bernardo Santa Fe in Escondido. Why? Well, hey… who wouldn’t love a community that is close to the mall, to the highway, to scenic Lake Hodges—yet feels quiet and tranquil all at the same time?
Bernardo Santa Fe is a gated community consisting of 113 estate homes completed in 2001. It is located in southwest Escondido, just west of the I-15 and north of Via Rancho Parkway. (Yes, folks, that’s the same exit as the Westfield North County Fair.) Aside from the mall, Bernardo Santa Fe is close to Kit Carson Park, Felicita Park, the Lake Hodges Driving Range and award-winning schools. Addditionally, the elevated location of many of the homes provides for view, views, views.
The homes in Bernardo Santa Fe are one and two-story homes, over 2500 square feet of living space, large lots—many with backyards that include pools, barbecue stations, and fire pits. Additionally, most of the homes include state-or-the-art kitchens with top-notch appliances. These are perfect kitchens for those who like to cook. But, for me, I’d just reheat. It doesn’t matter how big or small my kitchen is, all I do is microwave and use the coffee maker.

I am learning so much about the Escondido area from you - I've never heard of this community. Sounds like a great area, and of course Lake Hodges is beautiful.
I agree that it sounds like a wonderful community and great place to clal home! I have learned from clients relocating to Coeur d'Alene from California just how much Californians LOVE gated communities!
