Four years ago the Young Men's Christian Association completed construction of the new YMCA in Alvin Texas. The city at the time contributed as much as possible as well. Land was donated by a local for the site. Since I don't know if they would like their names mentioned I will leave that out.

The thought started in 2000 if I remember correctly and it took quite some time to struggle through all the red tape that can follow an endeavor such as this. The project turned out great and they have since added some awesome soccar fields in the "back 40" of the location.

My husband and I thought it was about time that we joined the nearest YMCA and it turned out to be the one in Alvin. We were received warmly and got a tour of the facility. John was really excited because they have YOGA classes. I know what you men out there are thinking. LOL He begrudgingly started yoga with our youngest daughter in efforts to be closer to her. He sweated a ton and lost lots of weight and found a new healthy respect for yoga...and he liked it. It relieved his built up stress and was a good thing for him.

So now this lady is going to start the class at the Y and we will see....as long as I don't have to get on the floor we are okay...MISSION CONTROL IT IS A GO...REPEAT...IT IS A GO...

A yoga class sounds like fun! It is supposed to be good for reducing stress....something we all need.

Well John went this morning to sign up on the kiosk and the time had been given to someone else. Now he has missed the Yoga class he wanted to go to today. Oh well... I was going to go too but the time got away from us!
