The first annual Tom Curran, Sr. Memorial Golf tournament will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Brownson Country Club, Shelton (Huntington) CT.
Tom passed away in June 2010. His family has formed this tournament in his memory at Brownson Country Club, a club he loved, promoted, and vigorously supported for over 40 years.
Tom was a true philanthropist who helped many in and around his community of Shelton CT as well as in the towns of Westport and Stratford, where he developed and ran his car dealerships representing eight franchises, including Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC Truck, Pontiac, Volkswagen and Isuzu.
I was fortunate to have known Tom as a neighbor, customer, and friend. He frequently went out of his way to get us tickets to the annual auto show in New York each year as my son has always been an avid car buff. As busy as he was, he would occasionally stop by to deliver some auto related ‘goodies’ to my son.
I personally miss our chats out on the street as I was working in the yard or walking my dog.
Tom was generous, kind, and a man of unparalleled integrity. His absence has created a noticeable void in our neighborhood and Shelton community.
Proceeds of this benefit will be directed to the Valley Community Foundation to ensure Tom’s legacy of philanthropy continues to benefit others.

11:30 a.m. Lunch and Pairings Drawing (True ABCD Blind Draw)
1:00 p.m. Shotgun Start
Tournament Format:
Best 2 Balls, Gross & Net of Foursome
Open Bar, Hors D’oeuvres, Stations Dinner and Awards to Follow
ENTRY: $100
There will be prizes for team results, closest to the pin, long drives, and some other surprises.
