$$FREE$$ Family Entertainment -- Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Garden

After a showing yesterday I was close to Mercer Arboretum, so I went over for a quick tour.  I stayed close to the front of the facility.

The Herb garden is closer to the visitor's center than it used to be.

Thank you Brandt Petroleum.  The herbs all have signs with the common and scientific name of the plants. 

 chili peppers

This chili pepper really piqued my interest.  The peppers look like berries and the leaves are almost black in color.

oregano

This oregano could season a big pot of spaghetti sauce.  Yum.

Great rest spot to relax in the park.  It faces the herbs.

rosemary

Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs.  Have you ever rubbed Rosemary between your fingers?  The oils leave such a wonderful earthy smell.

blazing star

This is called Blazing Star.  The bumble bees, or maybe yellow jackets, were all over this plant.  Note: while there were bees and wasps at the park, they just were flying from flower to flower, they did not hurt anyone, but you would need to not bother them.  It was just amazing watching them go from flower to flower.
