Placerville has trails for all sorts of exercise enthusiasts. Walking, jogging, bike trails, even horse trails can be found in the foothills of El Dorado County. One such trail is open to all of these trail blazers, right here, starting in Diamond Springs and ending in Placerville, Ca.

The El Dorado Trail stretches all the way up to Pollock Pines. The trail is broken into smaller segments, the fourth section of the El Dorado Trail, the "Trestle Segment", runs from Forni Road near the intersection with Ray Lawyer Drive to Missouri Flat Road near Walmart. The Trestle Segment is approximately 2.6 miles long.

The trail has plenty to offer:

  • Beautiful views
  • Quiet country setting
  • Well maintained
  • Parcourse on trail
  • Smooth asphault surface
  • Rest areas
  • Multi-use trail
  • Ample parking

There is so much to do in El Dorado County Laura. Hiking, biking, camping, rafting, (and on and on) for those that like adventure and being in the fresh air. Thanks for the comment.

El Dorado County has some real history there.  I'd like to take some time to explore some of these areas.  Maybe you can do a post on fishing spots in the area before it gets too cold.

That Trestle segment looks spectacular.  Hopefully, it doesn't have any dry rot!

Hahahaha! Yes Don that would be bad. The base is built of metal that has lasted years, the wood is treated lumber install a year ago. I think we are okay for now.  :)
