Hi Joni - Those bighorn can get pretty confident around people.  Last time we vacationed in Glacier National Park in Montana, they came snooping around the Many Glaciers Hotel.  They look so majestic, and they sure are graceful.  Good shot.

Susan and Rose: this was after he ran up the mountain. Check out the shot on my "I went on vacation..." post. It WAS pretty scary! I was only feet away from him then.

It's the "if you can" part he's smiling about.  They are amazing climbers as you saw first-hand Joni.

Hi Joni,

What a spectacular shot. I saw these animals in Alaska but we could never get that close to them as they like to stay up high. Very impressive Joni!

Debra: Who knows. It all happened so fast. This was the EXCITEMENT of the day that day!

Carol: He stood there and posed for us. I got several shots.

Anita: He went on up to the rocks but my lens isn't that strong. :((( SANTA!!!

Joan: I was MUCH closer earlier. That shot is on my "I went on vacation and the world didn't end" post.

Paula: No. I'm back now... just tossing some of my favorite shots up for the fun of it! :)

Kristin: We also saw a momma moose and her baby but my lens was not strong enough. They are barely visible in the photo. :(((

Great photo, Joni!  There is a spot on I-70 from Denver to Vail where the bighorns gather.  They are quite majestic, but I wouldn't want to get too close.  Have a great day!
