Parents & Teachers - Teach Your Children Fire Safety !!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Florida Future Realty Inc.

As some of you may or may not know in addition to my work as a REALTOR® and Mortgage Broker, I also serve my community fulltime as a Firefighter Paramedic.

With October being Fire Prevention month the Engine Company that I'm assigned to spent the morning at an elementary school talking about fire safety.  We had originally gone to do what we call a "Truck Demo."  Basically this is where we open all the doors and compartments and walk the kids around the Fire Engine showing the children the various tools, equipment and gear needed for Firefighters to do their jobs.

I like to take the "Truck Demo" a little bit farther and ask the children a few simple questions about fire safety.  Much to my amazement I was somewhat disappointed in the knowledge that these elementary school children had so I wanted to write this blog and place some links that parents could use with their children to make their families safer and more prepared.

Parents... remember the life you save could be your own or that of your child!!!

Hi Scott great post. As an ex volunteer from NJ, I understand the importance of teaching fire safety and always enjoyed the reaction from the school kids. You have some great sites for people to visit. I want to also thank you for what you do and for the people that you help. On a real estate note, I'm also here in the Cape with you and I'm ready for you to send over a contract.

Scott I believe this is very timely.  I just noticed on Yahoo that they think the fires in California may have been started by kis playing with matches.  What a shame.

Thanks for all of the links.  I will be putting them in my client resource file.
