Pinellas County Parks - North Pinellas County Florida
We have some of the most beautiful beaches and parks in the state right here in Pinellas County. Let us start at the north end of the county, up in Tarpon Springs.

Fred Howard Park is 155 acres of park and beach located directly on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Tarpon Springs Florida. Here you will find picnic shelters that can be reserved for parties, restroom and shower facilities, launches for your kayak or canoe, an area for wind surfing, two playgrounds for the little ones and beautiful white sandy beaches. If you decide to fish off the causeway that leads out to the beach, be sure you have a fishing license!

Anderson Park is located on the western shores of Lake Tarpon with an entrance off of US Hwy 19 in Tarpon Springs. Here 135 acres of trails, picnic facilities, playgrounds, doggie parks, fishing piers and a boat launch area that is open 24-hours a day await you.
John Chesnut Park is located on the eastern shores of Lake Tarpon and accessible via East Lake Road. 255 acres await you in this beautiful park with it's winding boardwalks that curve around the natural vegetation and shoreline of the lake. There is a lookout tower, playgrounds for the little ones, picnic areas, restrooms, doggie park, softball field, water fountains and a boat ramp (there is a fee for use of this boat ramp).
Wall Springs Park, located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Palm Harbor Florida, offers 210 acres that also connects to the Pinellas Trail. Here boardwalks, an observation tower, fishing piers, playgrounds, restrooms and picnic shelters that can be reserved await you!
Philippe Park is located in Safety Harbor Florida, on the shores of Tampa Bay. 160 acres of rolling hills, Native American Mounds, picnic shelters, restrooms, playgrounds, hiking trails and a boat ramp await. Again, please remember that a fishing license IS required, even if fishing from shore!
Sand Key Park is located on Clearwater Beach's Sand Key, directly on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. This 95 acre park is divided into two sections: the park with it's dog park, playground, picnic tables and grills as well as restrooms. The beach section has changing facilities and restrooms, kayak and bike rentals, cabana rentals and concessions. It is in this section that you can swim in the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico and frolic in the Florida sun!
This list is of north county parks that belong to the county government. There are dozens of smaller parks and water parks in each community from Tarpon Springs and Palm Harbor to Dunedin, Safety Harbor and Clearwater. They will be covered in a separate list, by town.

I had a little Opel GT - gold - and I would cruise around the park with "Good Day, Sunshine" blaring and friends crammed in. It was idyllic :)
