How true, How true! "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades" by Timbuk 3, a band out of Madison , Wi, hit the charts in 1986, as the economy and the housing market were teetering on the brink of disaster, oil crisis looming, Savings and Loan Crisis, (from poor lending practices) right around the corner.
History repeats itself? Ya think!! 1987. The Real Estate Market was well in some areas of the country, the high appreciation areas were hit the hardest, loose lending practices were corrected. De Ja Vu, all over again.
1989. Recovery in most areas began, a few ups and downs, a bit of inflation, threat of recession, until 1992-1993, when one of, if not, the greatest expansion in the American economy started. (1992, wasn't that an election year?) Lasted through 2005, 2006 in some areas.
History repeats itself? A couple, or so, down years for most areas, ( I guess we're half way through.) and we're ready to rock again!
