For those people wanting to move to the mountains of Western North Carolina and desiring to achieve the feeling of privacy, surrounded by raw beauty and coupled with the security of "community" will find that ideal combination in the Sylva Vista Development in Jackson County, North Carolina.
The full team of MoonDancer Realty, including the Office Manager, visited our good friend at her home in Sylva Vista yesterday evening. Leslie and I talked about the scary roads I’d shown property on over the weekend while we drove through Sylva Vista. All we could think about was how organized the Sylva Vista Road Maintenance Committee must be to have these incredible wide and smooth roads. Rather than fight the terrain, the developers managed to design the roads to integrate into the grade gently making them a pleasure to travel. Considering that we had had a day full of rain here in the mountains, there was absolutely no evidence of poor runoff and trust me, that is a true test of good roads in our area.
The house sites in Sylva Vista are large, so there is no need to place homes at the very edge of world...another example of good design. It is a delicate balance to achieve, privacy without feeling isolated and Sylva Vista has managed that very well. The Home Owners Association in Sylva Vista is one of the few in the area with a website. Both full and part-time residents can easily keep up with what's going on in their development.
Nature abounds here. While hanging on the deck with the MoonDancer Office Manager, hummingbirds were buzzing around the feeders. There have been reports of deer and rare sightings of black bears in the development. The residents manage a harmonic existence with their four legged neighbors - after all, who was there first? There's nothing more relaxing than enjoying the mountain views while listening to the chorus of frog song.
We were really feeling the autumn bite in the air yesterday evening. It was still 60 degrees, but with the warm friendly conversation and the small fire in the chimnea - Sylva Vista felt like a pretty cozy place to be.
The entrance of Sylva Vista is located less than 10 minutes from downtown Sylva, so shopping, movies, restaurants, schools and the medical compound is very handy. Because US74 is so close, a trip into Waynesville is also convenient.
Sylva Vista is one of my favorite subdivisions in Jackson County to show property. I admit to liking things made easy and transparent for me and my clients. Sylva Vista does all of that with their website. As for the rest of it? The proof is right before us - the perfect package of beauty, privacy and community.
