Stay Focused....Keep Working....The Deals Will Be There!!!

The one thing I’m confident about in the real estate business is that if you keep working, and stop thinking about the tough times, you’ll make money.I’ve seen more agents panic because they have no income for the next month, and they stop working!!!They spend time talking about the void month!!

It should work just the opposite of that mentality. When we have no income on the books for the future, the next step is to pick up the pace and work every day.Make every day an important day.Have a list of tasks that need to be accomplished, and accomplish every one of them before you leave the office for the day.

Do this for a month without stopping. It’s equivalent to an ActiveRain 30 day challenge.Work for 30 days and at the end of that time period you will have formed a new habit. The habit is called “working.” Anyone who does not have that habit perfected is in deep trouble in this market.

To stay alive and well during these tough times, we need to stay focused and work a schedule that is a rigorous schedule. This applies to everyone including the veteran agents.I’ve never worked so consistently and intensely as I am right now, and I call my work status semi-retired??

More great words of motivation. I have been in a "funk" the past several weeks and am working hard to get out of it by putting more effort into creating business for myself and getting the potential deals I have to actually close. Have to stay focused on the positive -- just have to!

Jerry....it certainly gets tougher to maintain a certain level of production....establishing a 30 day challenge of working is a good method for me....I stay focused...

Peggy....establish a routine and a list of tasks to complete every day and complete them....if you do that for 30 days, you'll be shocked at the business that falls your way.....don't forget to ASK FOR THE BUSINESS....

Barbara, I love your posts...especially this one...so down to brass tacks yet so inspirational.  You just gave me my next blog idea. But wanted to say in my market there have been 4,320 single family homes sold this year so far (90 of them over $500K) The deals are out there, I just need to be on one side or the other.  I've had a GREAT year so far and it's because I've done exactly what you just wrote.

Barbara, I couldn't agree with you more.  I hear too many agents complaining or focusing on tough times and  since that's where their focus is I think it just snowballs.  I tend to just work what's at hand and look for better ways of doing things...you know...making lemons into lemonade!

Hi Nick....I know exactly what you mean....I've had my fair share of lemons over the years and I, too, always attempted to make lemonade from them....sometimes it worked and other times, I just had to keep working....

Oh Barbara!  What a challenge.  I just let my secretary go after 8 years.  Now, trying to reorganize, listing homes, selling houses, there is no time for worrying about anything.  I'm positive I'm not focused on anthing but work right now.

Onward and upward Barbara, great points made here...and we just started a Tom Ferry 90 Day class at my new RE/MAX office....good stuff, and so is the 30 day challenge, it's been fun and hard at the same time, but your right, forming a habit...thanks for the well wishes and I can truly say, I really feel like I am home with RE/MAX.

Kay....,.we all need to make changes at one time or another....last year I dismissed two team members and had one left....it took me one year to find the right people and regroup.....I did a new game plan and selected from two different towns....no one trips over the other now....you'll find the right person for your office too.

John....welcome aboard....you'll find RE/MAX has something for everyone....you'll find your niche....

I like that comparison to the ActiveRain 30 day  challenge.  Although no comparison is needed, it can help to put things in perspective for some and to help motivate.
