The 150 Year Reenactment was held at Wilson's Creek National last month.

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield

The Battle of Wilson's Creek was the first major battle of the Civil war west of the Mississippi River.

Fought in 1861, the battle fought between the Union forces and the Missouri State Guard where over 2500 soldiers lost their lives fighting for their cause.

Today, the battlefield is open to the public and includes a Civil War Museum.  Drive through the park and you'll see several battle grounds.  You can even ride your bike through the park.  Picnic areas are located near the museum.

We have a national battlefield here that I have never been to, probably because it's a couple of miles past the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park, and if I'm going to drive all the way out there, it's to go to the Park. The Battlefield is on my list of things to explore, though.
