Here is some information that might be worth passing on to family, friends and clients who may not be aware of this service.  You can help stop unwanted phone solicitations by registering your phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry.  Your registration is good for 5 years before you need to re-register.  Go to http://www.donotcall.gov/ or call 1-888-382-1222 to verify that your number is on the list.  Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days, and if they do, you can file a complaint at the website above.  According to the Do Not Call website, there are some organizations that are exempt, such as: calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors.  Also, calls from companies you have given permission to contact you or with which you have a business relationship.
