Pascack Valley Homeowners Could Be Additionally Taxed by Potential Municipal Transfer Tax

Time to call and write to your local legislators about the potential municipal transfer tax that local municipalities are considering..Homeowners who sell already pay a hefty State Transfer Tax to New Jersey.  Now the local towns are trying to create a new tax to take more money from Sellers in the Pascack Valley and other areas of Bergen County and all of New Jersey.  Homeowners who sell their homes could leave more at the closing table should this new legislation take effect.

Time is running out and legislation may be considered after the November 6^th election that will allow all of New Jersey's 566 municipalities to charge their own realty transfer fee - in addition to the state fee. The election is less than two weeks away..the time to act is NOW!!
