How to select your realtor?

Do you look at ads in a magazine?  Do you see who gave you the last notepad?  Do you see who has the most real estate signs up in the city?  Did you select your realtor because you like him or her the best?

There are many ways we select the person to represent the sale of our home.  Not all of them work however.  In today’s technological world there is a much easier way to select a realtor. Do you believe that people who had experiences with a realtor would know if they did a good job?  It is as easy as that to select a good realtor.  Go to Google, look them up on Google Maps and see how many reviews the realtor has and how positive are the reviews.  That will give you a quick story how much the person’s clients liked him.   It is very hard to figure out how to write a review on Google, so the fact that the client took the effort to do it shows a lot of appreciation.  Check out your realtor and see how many reviews that person has?

I like Faith's suggestion... I had an interview todday with a potential listing client who thought I should be the "expert" in her particular suburb in order to sell her house. We had a great phone interview but I think I set myself apart from some of the neighborhood agents in her area in terms of the marketing we would do for her - Just one example: I would get a listing-specific website for the property and blog about it here in the Rain- works every time if you price it right! Cheers!

Yes that is so true!  I do not understand why Google makes it so difficult for someone to leave a testimonial for someone.  Thanksfully now we have Google +1.

I have made it a point to ask every person I sell or rent a house to write me a review on Google.  They hardly never object , but when they try they find it difficult to figure out.  I have about 10 requests out there but only 5 have come through in the last 2 weeks.
