Lovely post, Gayle of my heart. It takes a special kind of person to do what they do, and you captured the charm of the day beautifully.
Gayle, Thank you for a wonderful post, more of us need to honor all of those who volunteer and risk their lives to serve and save their neighbors. May God Bless all thos who are part of this great family.
Gayle, I know you must be very proud of your husband and all of his associates. Our area also depends on our brave volunteers.
A wonderful story with the volunteer part and all the beautiful people photos you included for us. The annual picnic has to be such a joy as a get together to get to know everyone so well and having the helicopter there and the kids getting to work the fire hoses, just a real treat for everyone in attendance. I always feel I know your community so well with your descriptions Gayle. Thank you very much.
I'm impressed that you have so many great citizens that are willing to put their life on the line to protect others and their possessions.

You have once again captured the "spirit' of your lovely community in your photos and your words. What a nice remembrance too for today's 10 year anniversary of 9/11.
I share in your thanks to our first responders in every community who lay their lives on the lines to protect us.
Lovely Gayle. Have a great Sunday and enjoy our late summer sunshine. :)
GF - The Mist-Birkenfeld Fire Department Volunteer Annual Picnic looks like a wonderful event and perfect way to honor and remember those who give, and volenteer their time every day, "the First Responders" to such worthy causes. Love all your photos and presentation - you always find a postive spin, even on sad occasions, something the rest of us can take a lesson from!
Gayle....What a great event......This was a very nice thing for you to do!

Steve, I went off to comment on your blog and my computer locked up on trying to download the wonderful version of Our National Anthem, so I didn't get to comment, but I will. In the meantime, how EXCITING to be featured! Thank you so much!!
