Hi Jeff,
What a fun event, I remember being there a couple of times what a fun even. They also had a spectacular "artistic" cake display lat time. There is definitely something for everyone!
I've never been to an ArtSplash, Jeff. The talent looks incredible. I especially like the sand sculptures!
Hi Jeff, I would really like to atend this this year. Your slide show is awesome as always. Adding the extra slides for the Cover and the End was great! Looks really professionally done!
Love the artistic flair your area emanates...how coold for the whole family to enjoy...i am sure the event will be well attended considering all that you mentioned..
Great information for local folks who follow this event. I loved the show. I'm sure this
Jeff the painting in the background almost looks like something that would be seen on the side of a Volkswagen bus in the 60's ............... LOL
I love it.
Jeff - This looks like such a cool event. Wish we could make it.... Wonderful localism post and btw you sure are looking like one proud grandpappy in your pictures as of late... Congrats on that...
I have seen some chalk art here on Manhattan streets that is amazing, professional quality stuff, some people just have a gift. sounds like a great event.
Jeff, loved seeing the chalk art and other pieces of art in Art Splash. Carlsbad has such cool events!
Sharon
Lynda - agreed. And this year they are offering some new activities. While I enjoy the art for sale, I really enjoy seeing the chalk art being created.
Steve - It is well worth your trip from Murrieta.
Jeff
Jeff - another one of your great localism posts! One of these days I just might make it out to your coast.
William - you would really enjoy it. And there are some terrific photo ops for you!
Ginny - it is always well attended and there is something for everyone. People really seem to enjoy the live performances.
Jeff
Great video. Makes me want to jump in the car and drive to Carlsbad. Great beach and great restaurants. Lucky you to live there. I used to live in San Diego and miss it all the time. Your video makes me so home sick.
Lenn - this is a very popular early fall event. HAving been several times I know that the chalk art, in particular, changes quite a bit. You do see some of the same vendors but there are always new things to look at and buy, and the activities are different each year.
George - that could have been the inspiration.
Bob and Lisa - thanks on both counts. Very true!!
Eileen - chalk artists are pretty interesting to watch. The realism is pretty amazing, and sitting on the ground for many hours in the sun to complete these creations is not my idea of fun. But fun to watch.
Jeff
Jeff - thanks for letting us know where to go the last time we were out there. We certainly had fun at the beach and around Encinitas.
