I admit it I'm addicted to "Get It Sold" Reruns.
Today I decided I would listen close and see where this $650,000 AND 3 bedroom 2 bath house was located for sale.
NOW I listened hard but the show narrator didn't bother to mention what city the home was in. I wonder why that is, hmmm.
Obviously this 3 bedroom 2 bath is NOT in TEXAS !!!! The house sold at full price $650.000 after "GET IT SOLD" STAGED it.
I have finally figured out that Sabrina doesn't do EVERYTHING. I wonder sometimes what the other bedrooms and bathrooms really look like!!!! hmmmm. The show uusally works on only two to three areas.
Back to WHERE WAS THIS HOUSE? It is somewhere in the U.S. All the narrator says is that the house is in a major metropolitan area. What is with the BIG mystery?
Is it the privacy facter? Well, HELLO, if you are going to have your house shown at HGTV, aren't you going to tell all your friends, sorta friends, and at least your passing acqainatances? So why the BIG MYSTERY as to location?. Maybe you need to exageratte a little for TV, huh?
Of course Sabrina Soto only spends a $1,000 for staging this $ 650,000 jewel. Now, even I figured it out that $1,000 is the cost of THE MATERIALS ONLY. However, Sabrina is absolutely amazing. She got 2 - not just 1 upholstered side chairs and said they were ONLY $200 total. That is only $100 a piece!
I have on occasion found bargain furntirue at used furniture stores, but never when I actually need something! Do you think she mentions to the retailer that the furniture is going to be shown on National TV. Maybe that is the secret!
I think that a better plan is to rent furntiure for staging to show contemporary updating. That way you don't have to lug the furniture around yourself. You don't have to take it with you if you are not a neutral fan anyway. The investment in rental furnishings to stage a home is the least expensive route. No repainting or upholstery work required on rental furnishings!
I do like the results that Sabrina Soto demonstrates. She is very creative and shows the value of painting is worth many 100's of dollars to you and more.
The smartest move to get your home ready to sell, is to paint whatever needs to be neutralized or updated.
Don't think for a minute that the buyer wants to paint. PAINT BEFORE THE SIGN GOES IN THE YARD!!!!
If you are feeling a little overwhelmed by what to do to get ready to sell, that is normal. A staging consultation will keep it simple and give you a step-by- step checklist on how to get your home staged
