Market conditions in Moses Lake...lookin' good!

Think nothing is happening here in the middle of the known world?  THINK AGAIN!! :)  Here is a summary of some of the current development taking place in the area.  Now is a perfect time to expand portfolios and take a dip into the real estate market for yourself!  Consider: Moses Lake experienced nearly a 22% growth since last year...in a slumping market.  Can't argue with numbers! :)

Moses Lake Growth and Development:

Industrial Development
-REC/Solar Grade Silicon: (Silene gas and poly silicone manuf.) $635M plant expansion employing 1200 construction workers. 90 new jobs initially once complete. Successive expansion planned for 2008/2009 timeframe.

-Katana: (Wind turbine towers)$5M new construction Additional 30 employees initially.

-Columbia Colstor: (Cold storage) $3M. Additional 20 employees initially.

-Guardian Industries: (International building products) $35M facility employing approximately 130 jobs.

-Washington Ethanol: (Corn-based ethanol production) $130M project generating approx. 70 jobs initially.

-Specialty Chemical: (Manuf. of Precipitated silica) $25M project with 50 initial jobs.

-Washington Biodiesel: (Oilseed crushing/biodiesel) $74M plant offering 44 jobs initially.

-Genie Industries: (Manuf. of industrial lifts and other equipment) Currently employ over 700 employees and are adding 100+ jobs a year.

-Advanced Glazing Systems: (Exterior glass window curtains for high rises) $2M capital investment. Hire or transfer of approx. 30 employees initially.

These total approx. 550 new family wage jobs in the next two years. With the job multiplier, Grant county is expecting approx. 1463 total new jobs just from these projects. (Adding approx. 4272 residents.)

Tech. Related Growth

-Microsoft: (Company's largest state-of-the-art data center) $600M project employing 60-100 employees initially.  Redmond scale wages.

-Yahoo: (Data Center)  $400M project creating 60-100 Bay area scale wages.

-Intuit: (Data Center) $100M center which will employ approx 25 employees initially.

-Ask.com: (Data Center) Approx. 25 employees initially earning San Diego scale wages.

-5+ additional undisclosed companies seeking data center sites in Grant County.  Factors contributing to interest include low-cost power and availability of broadband  fiber capacity.


These data center and other tech jobs alone wil produce 210+ high paying jobs in Grant County. Projected population growth resulting form these jobs is 2340 residents.
