The Big Canoe , volunteer fire department is holding its annual fundraiser. This years theme is Western. If you are in or near Big Canoe on November 3rd Tickets are 75 each. Food and 2 drinks are included. It is a Casino night and in the end prizes will be drawn for.
This year we are trying to raise enough money to buy a "jaws of life" This is a very important tool used a lot on sometimes slippery, curvy mountains roads.
In case you did not know 80 percent of the fire fighters in this country are volunteers ! The Big Canoe Volunteer fire department of which I am a proud member provides mutual assistance in our surrounding counties. In Big Canoe we have a fire rating of 4 which means insurance is down. Many areas around us are a 10 ( the higher the number the worse off you are) .
So if any of you out there can help us with 5, 10 or 20 dollars you will be doing a good thing. Mail checks to
