The Shack, by William P. Young
a Great Book Review!

I just finished this incredible book. I'll admit I cried a good bit but, it was well worth it. I could barely put it down.
I've had many friends ask me where God is when bad things happen. Why he lets them happen, and what good can come from it.
I'm not going to say that The Shack answers those questions, but it will leave you very thoughtful. Here's a little explanation:
Missy, the youngest daughter of Mackenzie Allen Philips, goes missing on a family vacation. It appears that she might have been brutally murdered in an abandoned shack.
Four years later, during a snow storm, Mackenzie gets a note. It appears to have been sent by God, who invites him to the shack the following weekend.
If you read it, I'd love to hear what you think of it!

I loved it too! Need to pull it back out and read it again!
Hi Connie,
I have read this book several times and enjoyed it each time taking away something new that I missed the first or second time. I have also given it away many times just because it was appropriate. My Granddaughter Gabrielle, also read the book and simply loved it, she did this when she was 16 so teens are not to young to read it and gain some insight perhaps into unseen things.
I have many books I have read over the years that I have kept multiple copies of just because I cannot seem to hang on to them, another one of those books or series is by Richard Bach, the book "Illusions" may seem a bit far out to some, but it is really quite a book that makes you think above and beyond the norm. He has several books I have enjoyed.
Also the series of books by James Redfield, beginning with The Celestine Prophecy, very interesting books and my husband liked them as well.
I am glad you brought this book to the attention of many people, it is a very good read.
Ann - I gave my copy away but I think I want to get another one.
Mary - Thank you for the other books. I seldom have time to really read a book, but it's nice to have something good for when we travel. Keeps me from driving my husband crazy in the car! I don't often re-read the same book, but now you've got me thinking!
I look forward to reading it. These days I could really use the inspiration
Eileen - It's very moving. Be prepared to cry a little!
Great read! If you've ever questioned God's goodness, or tried to box God into your own small perception of what He should be, this is the book for you. My daughter passed it to me after reading it first, and I think I will pass it on to my husband. Like the author, William P. Young, my husband's perception of the "institutional church" has been shattered somewhat. Yet he loves God dearly and is all about the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The author has done a beautiful job of removing the traditional "finite boundaries" that have been placed on an infinite God. I know I'll read this book again and again, as well as tell all my friends about it. Loved it!
Gustiallia - I've given my copy away but plan to buy another one, read it again and probably give that away too.
