HELP!

By
Real Estate Agent with Realty Executives Associates
I am always "blogging" in my head, so in order for me to do this right, I need some help.  What is the difference of a blog and blog post? I live and work in real estate here in Oak Ridge, TN.  and I look forward to new and innovative ways to build my business especially through referrals.  According to many of you, blogging is one more way to diversify my marketing efforts.  So.... if you could help by letting me know what and "how to".   Have a Fabulous Real Estate Day!

Hey Anona,

Blog about your area. How beautiful it is in the fall, how wonderful the neighborhoods are, how the government has a nice labratory complex near by ....Oh, might want to leave that one out....Just kidding. Anyway, just write about what you know and what you think your readers would be interested in learning about Oak Ridge. Once you start blogging, you won't be able to stop.

A blog is how the information is conveyed (think newspaper or TV) the blog post, or just post, is the information (think article, or news story) itself.  A blog post can also be called an article.

Hope this helps and welcome to ActiveRain and blogging!

Anona: Well, they are related. A Blog is like a book. It is the overall collection of all your Blog Posts, which are like chapters in the Blog book. Most people use them interchangeably, so you won't look out of place with either.

Blogging on AR will definitely help your search engine ranking. Even just posting one blog could put you on the first page of Google for the key words in your blog (like Oak Ridge real estate, Oak Ridge homes for sale, etc.) You get the picture. It just depends how much competition there is for the key words you use in your Blog. Key words that are BOLD or underlined get special attention from the search engines, but don't repeat them too many times just for the sake of repeating them, as search engines consider that spamming.

Also, change your name in your profile to something like Anona Large, Oak Ridge Real Estate Specialist. Search engines like that also.

There are many blogs regarding SEO on AR. They are interesting and very helpful reading. Good Luck!
