Sondra's Snapshots: Horses Being Horses

By
Real Estate Agent with EXP Realty, LLC

The area to the south and south-east of the Colorado Springs city limits are popular areas to keep horses.  The area is less populated.  The land is flatter.  There are fewer trees.   Overall, the land is fairly suitable for horses so long as you have access to water.   As result, there are a lot of horse properties in this area.

I’m calling this collection of pictures that I took yesterday:  Horses Being Horses

Whenever I take a picture, I usually have great hopes of a wonderful photograph showing my horses at their best.  Sometimes, horses are just horses and the best doesn't always come out.  Each of these pictures represent some horses at Cactus Creek Canyon enjoying just being a horse.

Sondra - you take amazing photographs and the last one is so unique  - it looks like you used a special photo technique. You could frame it and put it up on your wall - even make it into a black and white photo to see how it looks.

I'm seriously experiencing photo envy! Love horses and someday I hope to move to the county and have one. Hey, I can dream - lol!

Sondra,

Lovely pictures. I live near horses and cows. I am amazed at what I see sometimes. I guess, it is because I am a city boy. My wife is from the country, so she is in her element.

Sondra, I always find it amusing when horses flip on their back to do that scratching. Wow, that Arabian is off in a cloud of dust with that speed. You'll need a faster shutter speed to capture him. The blur makes it almost look like a painting.

Sondra, I just love, love, love your horses. It was always a dream of mine as a child to have one of my own. I never got my horse so I can live vicariously through yours! What beauties they are and the final photo is just amazing. Thank you for sharing them with us.

As much as I was around horse when I was growing up, your picture of the horse rolling around on the ground is only the second time I've ever seen that. The first was here in San Diego a couple of years ago when I was out exploring and found a horse-riding facility owned by an Aggie who is the brother of one of my freshman roommates. Small world.

Sondra,

What a wonderful series of shots.  I have never seen a horse rolling around, that is precious.  Your Arabian is gorgeous, my father once owner a half of an Arabian many years ago.  A

You know, Sondra, it's not just being a lover of horses that makes me appreciate these so very much...it's your title, your creativity, and choices of photos, showing all of the variety in their spirit AND yours!  I loved this and exclaimed out loud with each one! The first one was Ah...the 2nd, laughter, the third made me want to kiss that sweet soft nose (I do that to my Summer all of the time and she kisses me back!) the fourth one was just plain COOL...and how gorgeous is HE!  I love his name.

Hi Sondra,

My favorite is Color Me Haida rolling on the ground. So cute even for an animal as big as a horse.  Love the titles for each!

Hi Sondra~ "Although Color Me Haida was well bred, a roll in the dirt was too much to resist"...

Couldn't resist a funny caption for that rare photo!

You certainly showcased the beauty of horses today...

Best regards from Seattle,
