I just had an encounter with an accessory hoarder!
Yes, seriously. This was the biggest accessory hoarder I have ever staged!
Now you may think I am speaking of a home owner I helped de-clutter to get ready to put their home on the market; but I am not.
This “accessory hoarder” was a cute little VACANT bungalow home in the sought after Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta in desperate need of Peachtree Home Staging.
Now, you may ask, “How can a vacant home be an accessory hoarder?” Well, it was like having vacant room -- inside vacant rooms! And to stage it right, it hoarded accessories like you wouldn’t believe!
There were vacant built-ins everywhere, just screaming for accessories to hoard!
There was the living room hoarder --

There was the dining room hoarder --

There was the kitchen hoarder --

And, there were TWO hallway hoarders --

Truth be known, I too, can be an accessory hoarder. But, as you can see, I do share and lend a helping hand to those poor vacant spaces needing my accessories. :-)

Thx, Lisa! It was a fun project.
Hi Krista, and thank you!
you're right Lynn -- It kept gobbling!
Thx Mike -- a lot of the credit goes to my partner Brette -- she is awesome at shelves~
Hi Sharon -- just a tad :-) Thx!
Karen, when I saw your title I thought...how did Karen get into my storage space and I didn't know about it? It is amazing how much "stuff" those shelves can absorb, isn't it. Great job accenting and highlighting the special features of that home!
Karen what a creative post! The before and afters are great - and I love your title!

You are just too cute for words. Love this post. Lots of spaces, no doubt, to fill. However, you did a great job!
Kathy
And... I just realized that you posted this in the Staging Before and After (silly me).
Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Hi Brette & Karen -- watch those hoarders! They can gobble up all your accessories before you know what they're doing!!
I so understand! I had one of those a few weeks ago that I had to almost empty my warehouse shelves for there were so many built-ins! Your staging and pictures are beautiful.
Yes....lots of cubbies to take up all those accessories! It is surprising how many "accessories" are needed for cubbies like these....but they look GREAT when you were finished!
Wow - were all those cubbies added by the builder/flipper, or were they original to the house? Very strange...although I'm working on a house that has a lot of built-ins too - talk about editing!
The built ins are a bit much. You did a fabulous transformation on this project. You filled spaces well and provide great textures and color.
Karen - Too funny! Those shelves were starving for accessories and had a feast on your inventory! Very tastfully done, I might add!
Hi Ginger -- nope not your warehouse; but you never know where i may be lurking around!
Anna ! why thx so much -- i love your bananna tude group!
And Kathy -- YOU KNOW how much I love your Staging B&A Group! Thx for the feature.
Hi Maureen -- you gave me an idea -- maybe I'll dress up as an accessory hoarder for halloween!
Thx, Shar! built-ins everywhere -- fortunately I had the inventory :-)
Awe, Kathy B -- you made me blush
Hi Julie -- The seller said it was that way when he bought the home 18 years ago -- so who knows?
thx for the kind words, Wendy
Hi, Sally -- a feast it was! Brette did a lot of them; she's good at doing feeding the shelving! :-)
Hi Karen, cute story, very entertaining and great examples for showcasing a space. So many empty shelves looking fo love...
Great post as always-great staging too girlfriend!
Aloha Karen,
The quirky and unusual built-ins are done great service buy your well composed accessorized stylings. The daffodil painting above the fireplace goes superbly with the pearl wall color. I love that color combo of silvery gray and yellow. I am also enamored with your choice of, I am guessing, dark green napkins and show plates on the dark green granite tres chic!
Peace,
Karen - I had one of those houses with 5 full wall accessory hoarders :-) It did take almost all my inventory. You filled the spaces with just the right touches. It looks beautiful!
HI Kathy, I too had a house that was an accessory hoarder. First one in a long time. How weird is that? Great timing on your post. I didn't think I was going to have enough stock left to do any other work. Love what you did here, lots of colour. Very happy and inviting house now.
Fantastic job, Karen! I'm so impressed that you were able to tastefully fill all of that shelving! I'm sure it will sell quickly (especially in Virginia Highland!)
