Kailua-Kona Neighborhood Tour - Keauhou View Estates
The Keauhou View Estates Subdivision in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii was built from about 2000 to 2002. The developer, Towne Development, offered four floor plans from 1,100 to just over 1,500 square feet. Lot sizes range from about 7,000 to 9,000 square feet. There are sidewalks, streetlights and underground utilities including sewer which is not very common in Kailua-Kona due to the rocky ground. The lack of telephone poles and wires gives this well designed Kona neighborhood a neat look.
All of the homes in the Keauhou View Estates have cathedral ceilings and two car garages, many enjoy ocean views. One of the best features of this neighborhood is the location, only a couple blocks to White Sands Beach and Four mile cove. White Sands Beach is great for swimming , bodyboarding and people watching. Four Mile Cove has nice underwater scenery for snorkeling and scuba diving. White Sands is especially popular with the families in Kailua-Kona and has a lifeguard on duty.
The Keauhou View Estates was the first neighborhood that I lived in after moving to Kona in 2000. My wife and I were the first family to close on and occupy a home in the neighborhood when the subdivision was brand new. The homes were sold without landscaping and we enjoyed doing that project ourselves. It was a fun introduction to tropical plants and we turned the place into our oun private tropical paradise. Regular walks to the beach for a swim was another highlight.
