The Ed Robson Branch Library, 9330 E. Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, Arizona 85248 is administered by MARICOPA COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT, ARIZONA, 2700 N. Central #700, Phoenix, AZ 85004 http://www.mcldaz.org - the branch is one of seventeen branch libraries in Maricopa County.
The Ed Robson Branch hours are Monday-Wednesday, 9-5; Thursday, 10-7; Friday 9-5; and Saturday 10-5.
Sun Lakes Friends of The Library, http://sunlakesfol.org is the principal benefactor of the Ed Robson Branch. In addition to many volunteers from Friends, the group has fund-raising activities, including the Bookstore at Ed Robson Branch. The bookstore offers gently used books and other media materials for sale.
Friends of the Library meet in the Lecky Center at 9:00 A.M. on the first Wednesday of the month, September through June. There is a nominal charge of $5.00 per year, per person, to be a member. http://sunlakesfol.org/index.cfm?page=membership
MEMORIAL BOOKS The Bookstore maintains a memorial wooden books shelf in the library. The spines are made of woods from around the world. When a loved one passes away, relatives or friends can commemorate him or her by purchasing a memorial wooden book engraved with the name of the deceased. Each book costs $100. The money goes to the Friends of the Library, helping to pay for a multitude of library enhancing materials, classes, and programs for children and adults. Memorial Books started in the early days of this branch's existence as part of the Maricopa County Library District, and was a community effort, beautifully constructed by the Sun Lakes Sawdust Club, financially assisted by the Lions Club.
