Several months ago a valued client contacted me because her best friend was thinking to move from New York to New Jersey. When I met Heather's childhood friend I found an intelligent young wife and mother who wanted more than anything to make a new home for her family in a place where they would all feel comfortable and at home growing up, going to school, making new friends and settling in.
We started with statistical and background data. School ratings and demographic information. Then I made appointments for her to talk with or meet other parents and school administrators. We took tours and reviewed listings. Then when we had narrowed it down to two towns, we looked at homes that met their needs. Then, Heather's best friend decided Short Hills was the place for her and her family. They loved the vibe of the town, the friendliness of people they met, the Millburn Deli, and most of all the extraordinary tree-lined streets and gracious homes. That's when we found their home.
At first, it was hard to tell what the house would look like. There were walls but the floors, woodwork, kitchen and baths were yet to be done. The builder was fantastic! Patiently and with thorough knowledge and confidence, he reviewed what was planned and what the home would look like. He was easy to work with, very accomodating and helpful every step of the way!
The end product is a truly extraordinary home. The attention to detail, comfortable, sensible floor plan, the quality of the workmanship and materials all came together beautifully in a lovely home for this family.
They have moved in and when I visited this morning I was greeted by a beaming face. The kids are happy - in school and in their neighborhood. The house is not quite completely unpacked and furnished but already it feels like their home. I feel honored to have helped and guided this family to their new home and community and I wish them years of happy memories in their new home in Short Hills.
