Dipping into the Cold Stuff

August 2011 was the hottest month on record in Arizona. It's the ideal time of year to have a pool. My friend just completed having a pool built in the backyard of her Rio Verde home. It's been almost a year in planning, permits and construction. Last week she was finally able to fill her new pool.  After having water hauled to fill her new pool, chemicals were added to ensure water quality. The next day she awakened early for her first dip. Unfortunately she was not the only one with that idea.

Any idea what's the name of the bird?

How awesome is that, Leolinda?  In Rio Verde?  I'll check to see if anyone has a crane farm or egret farm or something there.  That would be FUN to see.

Dallas had its hottest August on record too and today we broke 3 records - hottest temp for day, somethng to do with the calendar date and day 70 of 100 plus days in a year breaking the 1980's record. We should all love the pool and I can't say/see what that feather friend is.

Leolinda: Your feathered friend may give new meaning to the term "attractive nuisance" with respect to a pool. Hope he/she does not attrack a whole flock. I guess even they are looking to cool off.

I would say Sand Hill Crane but may be Blue Heron.  Looks like a King to me. Those birds strut their stuff!
