Still Afraid To Get In Front Of The Video?

It Can't Get Any Worse Than This!

I did it!  I jumped on the video band wagon.  You don't get to see my first video yet.  But you do get to see my bloopers!  I know, I know,.. seriously?  I'm going to show you my bloopers first?  How unprofessional is that?

Actually, I am doing this for one reason only.  To help take the fear out of getting in front of the camera for you.  When we first started recording, all I could do is focus on how goofy I looked, how I moved my mouth, my posture and my pauses.

But, a strange thing happened while I was messing up over and over.  Somewhere along the way, I got over myself.  It happened rather without notice.  I am not even sure when or how.  It just happened.  At some point the only thing that mattered was the information I wanted to share.

Without further adieu, my bloopers (yep even the introduction is a blooper ~ I started out with a very abrupt loud "SO" and pronounced Michael Thornton's last name without the "n");

Thank you Marc, each one gets easier.

Thanks Tom, I will!

Glad you enjoyed it Stephan.

Hey Cheryl, we used a Mac with the iMovie for these.

Phil what a nice thing to say.  I really appreciate that.  My next video is just a fun one, but will be posted in the a.m.  Hope you like it!

Kim, that was such a nice thing to hear.  Thank you!  I can't wait to see what you come up with when you do jump on!  I have no doubt it will be wonderful.

Well hello my Zinger friend!  Thank you so much.  It is a lot of work, but somewhere along the bloopers it all began to flow and I forgot myself and remembered my message.  It was an amazing experience.  I can't wait to create more.  Oh wait!  I already did.  LOL!  You will see that one in the morning Valerie!

No Charlie, nothing staged about me.  I'm about as real as you get.  Glad you liked it.  More to come tomorrow morning!

Oh boy does it ever Randy!  This was the censored version.  LOL!!!

Hello Michael S, always nice to see you.  It takes a whole LOT more than it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop that's for sure!  LOL!!!  But, we did get it done!

Kevin, I have to give you credit.  That is a lot of work!  I am hoping to get to the point that I am creating a video a week.  That's a big enough goal for me!  For now at least.

Eileen so good to see you again.  I love it that you have your own bloopers real!

LOL, Shar!  My hair is course and ridiculously thick.  I have always wanted silky smooth hair!  My next video will be tomorrow morning!

Sherri thank you so much!  I actually have to work to tone down my "big kid" personality.  I am having fun with the videos now that I have "gotten over myself" and gotten past the sound of my voice, my mannerisms etc.

Mike, always a pleasure to see you.  I believe that is true in every aspect of our lives.  Thank you.

Karissa, eventually?  Think about it,... right now only 3% of Realtors use video.  How much of an edge would it give you to be one of the few?  Get er done girl!

My Sally Gal, you are so sweet!  I loved your video tour of your staged properties.  You are beautiful, fun and articulate.  I can't wait to see more!  My next one is tomorrow morning, but it is just for fun!

Judy, thank you so very much.  I did finish one for fun that will post tomorrow morning but we have a lot to learn about editing, branding and making it look professional before I will have a finished product.  But we will keep plugging away!

I would love that Don!  LOL!!!  Keep me posted.

It absolutely does Margie!  You have a very smart fiance.

The Christianson Team, you are more than welcome!  Glad you liked it.

It certainly can be Dana.  And as usual it was the fear that was the worst part.  The process was a little painful, but a lot of fun!

Thank you Stephanie.  I actually had to minimize the area where I was on the monitor and just look at the little green dot.  That helped me focus and relax.  Give it a try.  It's not all that bad!  Especially when I figured out that when the little green dot was on, I was being recorded.  LOL!!

Your instructor was quite wise Barbara!  Being yourself is what it's all about.  Although in my case it is a little toned down myself!

Jennifer, thank you so very much!  I will definitely be checking those out.  I can't wait to see them.  My next blog comes out in the morning!

Well Hello Nick,  It is always a pleasure to see you!  So you missed the contest?  I'm sorry to hear that.  With your sense of humor, I know what ever you came up with would have been good!  Don't let that stop you from jumping on the video band wagon!  Stop by tomorrow morning!  It'll be fun!

Hi Eric!  So nice to see you again!  I know you will be coming up with something fun.  I cannot wait!  Be sure to let me know when you do.  My next one will be tomorrow morning.  Just for fun!

Congratulations on the feature.  Absolutely adorable!  Who knew that what you thought was so awful would turn out so cute!  Really showed your personality - and I have decided that no matter what I do, while I'm learning this video stuff, NO ONE gets to be in the room :)  Too much distraction.  DARLING, darling! :)

Laura, Kristine reblogged your video.  I'm so glad that she did.  You not only made me laugh but it made me feel more confident in my attempts.  I suppose the bloopers are natural.  And, you did a great job of "sewing" the video together.  I don't have the faintest idea of how you accomplished it, but the end effect was great.

Saw your video on Kristine's blog.  Loved it.  You so deserve the featured post.  Apparently you'd be a lot of fun to hang out with and I think you look like a young Goldie Hawn...post Laugh-In but pre-First Wives Club.  Congratulations.

Just posted a video this morning for fun!  Hope you all like it.  :)D

Thank you so much Georgia. Now, about your video?  Come on!  It can't be worse than this one!

Oh my were there distractions during this video Mimi!  There was a dog, my sister and her husband.  And of course the worst distraction of all,... myself in the monitor!  But thank you for your kind words.  ;-).

Good morning Peg, I don't know if it was bravery,.... LOL!!!  But thank you!  And I totally agree, after this no one should have an excuse!

Jerry, you rock!!!  Thank you!  Now,... go get your video done and let me see that one.  I know it is going to be great!

Beer?  What beer Scott?  I totally kept that out of camera shot!  LOL!!!

Sandra, what a wonderful comment!  Thank you.  It was actually relatively easy (especially the bloopers).  We used iMovie to put it together.  It's a great program and the more we play with it, the more I LOVE it!  The fear is the only real stopper, but once you do a few it gets easier and easier!

Goldie Hawn?  NICE!  Thank you Mona.  Can you imagine myself and Kristine together?  Ha!  Now that would be scary (love that gal-great friend!)!!!  Hang out with us some more.  We do have a lot of fun if nothing else.  ;-).

Laura,

Besides your beauty and brains, what else do you have that I don't have?

COURAGE!

This video bloopers is truly a motivator to an old fart like me who doesn't want to be videotaped.

You did a great job and you will always be a success because you try, you perfect your skill and you do it with grace, humor and a style that's all your own.

APPLAUSE! APPLAUSE! APPLAUSE!

Laura,

I think you are very brave, a lot braver than me.  I love your laugh and sense of humor, it looks like you had a lot of fun with it.  Thank you for sharing the bloopers, it makes it all so much more real.  You will be great on future videos!

Thank you Zak,  It was a little unnerving, but it needed to be done.  Not only for myself, but even more so for others that fear getting in front of the camera.

Good morning Larry & Sheila.  I am so glad you did stop by.  I'm glad I could start your day with a laugh.

Patricia, you are one of the most beautiful and adorable people I have ever met.  Your intelligence and eloquent way of writing and expressing yourself far exceeds my talents.  The real difference between you and I is that I am a jumper!  I jump in before I check out how shallow the water is, causing a few bumps and bruises along the way.  LOL!!!  You my friend, are smart enough to test the waters prior to jumping in.  I know when you do dive in it will be more like a swan dive.  When you choose to dive into video you will do it with class, beauty and intelligence.  I thank you for your beautiful and kind words, but even more so for the sincerity in your words.

Thank you Eric,  I hope it IS the motivation you needed.  I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Mary, I don't know if it was actually bravery.  LOL!  We did have a lot of fun while creating the beginning videos.  I was hoping by showing this video to others, it would help eliminate some of the fear they have of getting in front of the camera themselves.  Video is a powerful marketing tool that is barely tapped into.  Now is the time to learn and be a huge step ahead of others.  We have a long way to go with editing, lighting and backdrops but we are learning quickly.
