15 Comments on New York's 9th Congressional District, first Republican elected in 91 years.
Wallace, thanks for posting this. I stayed up a bit last night to catch the results, but they didn't come before I dozed off. Excellent.
Do you think Americans are tired of the failed policies of this President? His stance on Israel our only true friend in the Middle East? I think it is - and I believe liberals will spin this into a victory for Obama when it is all said and done. Liberals are blinded by defeat, and 2012 will prove that...
I still say THEY are experiencing my CARTER/MONDALE moment when I did a KNEE-JERK lever pull for 1 term Carter after the NIXON/Watergate ear and NOW they are scrambling back up the SLIPPERY SLOPE!
Hey Wallace; Good morning and thanks for the re-blog.
Well, you have a large Jewish population and they are finally realizing that the Democrats don't care about Israel and never have. The Dems locked up the Jewish vote decades ago and they continued to vote as a bloc ever since. (Does't explain the first couple of decades, but certainly holds true for the last 40-50 years.
Wallace,
It's another wake up call that won't be answered by our President. His lack of experience and personal policy is certainly challenging all of us.
2012 should be exciting to see how widely the margin of victory is for the other side!
All the best, Michelle
Oh No! Wallace, you didn't vote for Jimmy Carter? Not many people I know would admit that now - lol. You are very honest, as usual.
Yes! I did vote for Jimmy CARTER...I lived in Hawaii and was tired of hearing about Nixon and Watergate. I STILL have the campaign button....this is why I KNOW whereof I speak with the POTENTIAL of DISENCHANTED Dems!
Wallace - At least you have learned from your mistakes - how about the rest of America?
Wallace,
Here in Nevada this morning the ultra liberal Las Vegas Sun newspaper is spinning the Democrat loss by stating this congressional district did not vote for Obama in 08. Thank god that the liberals "don't get it". This is a preview of the 12 election.
Wallace -
Obama has been crapping on Israel, and Jews everywhere for years now, and suddenly……
It's starting to matter - check these Headlines, from top of Drudge Report right now:
Dem Party leaders mobilizing to solidify president's standing with Jewish voters to counter image Obama not friend of Israel...
NYT setting story for lead Thursday, newsroom sources tell DRUDGE...
Comes after shock defeat of Dem candidate... DEVELOPING...
But it won't work - his butt kicking will be EPIC!
Wallace, I am hoping the Jews in Florida will follow the lead in 2012 of the Jews who elected the republican in New York.
The tide may be turning, finally. Wallace, you are a very rare but honest woman to admit voting for Carter, the 2nd worst president in our history. Even today, Carter is promoting anti-Israel blather.
If this NY district, heavily democratic, Jewish vote went overwhelmingly for the conservative Republican, then there is real hope for change in 2012.
I'm not sure what to make of that election but it is pretty amazing that a Republican could win in a district that blue.
Rob * people stayed home...the APATHY of the Obama supporters is AMAZING. I have only seen 2 Obama 2012 bumper stickers on vehicles in our area in a state that went for Obama in 2008
