Mitchell- I just love these stately old grand homes- The workmanship has withstood the test of time.
Brownstones... A type of structure that we do not have out here in Silicon Valley... So when I see them, I kinda just look like a kid in a candy store... Kinda cool!
Maria, Thanks, Theyn do't build therm like that anymore.
Pat, Yes that is a nice apartment.
Lenar, Thanks, Bay windows are really nice.
Alexandra, The first shot is west 70's between Columbus and Amasterdam. The second shot is West 80's off Central park West.
Hi Michele, Yes, they sure do. Brooklyn has a lot of Brownstones too.
Chris, Thanks, These were built way before the computer. lol
BTW: the second picture is a gorgeous townhouse for sale listed with an agent in my office.

Hi Hannah,
The Corcoran Group just listed the house next door to Carrie Bradshaw's 'Sex and the City' townhouse.
64 Perry Street
This historic four story 20' X 48' home was built in 1866 by architect Robert Mook. It's in the West Village but she lived in a fictitious Upper East Side townhouse in the TV series.
New York Times Article about the building. Interesting history.
They are beautiful!!! I'm rockin my Yankees jersey at work today. They're in town and hopefully going for the sweep tonight. I'll be there yelling at the top of my lungs!!!!
Hey Kerrie,
You need one of these too:
You Go Girl! Go Yankees!
I love brownstones - their elegance and grace are from another time and are uniquely "New York!"
IMHO you can't beat a brownstone in NYC.............architecturally beautiful, love them.
Mitchell: These are fabulous photos of a New York icon. There are no townhomes in the world quite like New York. I will allow you and Kerrie your Yankees support. The Phillies just clinched for the fifth year in a year. Hope to see a Phillies-Yankees series. Then we will have some fun!
Makes me want to go "home" to visit NYC....the architecture is fabulous.
Hey, Mitch! I included this post in Last Week's Favorites. Have a great Sunday!
I've only been to New York once, but I always love to hear about an see the "neighbourhoods." Every city has them but I think New York's neighbourhoods are as distinctive and have as much character as any others you can find.
Hi Ruthmarie,
I love brownstines too. My first Manhattan apartment was a fabulous limestone that was once the Gimbel family carriage house (from the department store)
Roger, thank you, I love them too.
Anne, Thanks, Phillies Yankee series Oh Yeah!
Yvette, Thanks, come home, I will find you a lovely brownstown ;-)
Pat, Thanks for including mei in the week in review.
Peter, Thanks for stopping by. Each neighborhood in New York is like a small town with it's own personality.
Those are great photos. I love walking around the city seeing all of the different neighborhoods.
These are really beautiful. What an eye opener on the prices, though. What is the typical days on market?
Thanks Mitchell, those are some gorgeous shots. Brings back memories of my formative years in NY.
Someday I'm going to NY and visit... I need to see this architechture and Macy's and Cooperstown, and... But these pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
And at least everyone is on the right page... Go Yankees!
