I went to  church last night and was met by my daughters Pastor out in the parking lot.  He wanted to check in with me and let me know what these youth (1-6 graders) had accomplished.  They had scheduled a walk to support Gauna Africa and they had to get sponsors  to sponsor them for each lap that they walked.  The Pastor told me that this kids (we have less than 75) had raised approximately $1,700.00 if they walked the required amount of laps.  I was floored.  First I thought - here these kids are - willing to go to people and get sponsors and then spend their Saturday and walk in laps for people they don't know, in a country that they have never been to all becuase they want to help put in a well or build a church. 

Another thought that I had was "I wish I could be more like these kids, willing to do whatever I possibly can to help anouther person, I don't know, in a country I've never been to.  I was ashamed when I really got to thinking about it.  Would I be willing to get sponsors or walk all day, to help someone I know, let alone don't know.  I know in the past things have come up and I didn't reach out because it wasn't convient timing or I didn't have the funds or what ever reason. 

My last thought was "Lord, make me more like these kids.
