It wasn't too long ago that I received a call from a Short Sale Specialist Wayne Garab of River City Home Solutions. We talked on the phone for a
while laughing at some of these short sale trainings that exist.
You have to understand that I have been doing short sales since the 90's. So yes, I do recognize good training and will poke fun. We discussed a few other things and before you know it, I had invited him to Activerain. Well he accepted my invitation and joined October 1st.
I am on the education committee at our Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors. I told him to send me his info and I would present it to our committee.
Well that is exactly what I did, Daytona Beach Real Estate Professionals really need to understand the short sale process and the committee agreed to include it in the many who wanted to be on our schedule for 2008.
I too train Short Sales and Pre-Foreclosures and am amused at what some of these presenter's consider Short Sale Training.
Agents want hardcore Training, learning new techniques, training the process...the entire process. Someone who can explain the process from start to finish.
That is why the committee had me call Wayne Garab and ask if I could attend his next training.
It turned out, he was presenting to the Jacksonville! North East Florida Association of Realtors. It was packed and I was there! When I walked in I met Joy who runs the education committee for the board. She treated us like royalty.
I was at awe with the facility. It's huge and quite luxurious. The amazing thing about The North East Florida Association of Realtors, the board thought short sales was a priority to teach the agents. (training director) It's a paid training and it was offered to the members of the association for FREE!
It was packed but they are having another next week and plan on having one next year. They
have a waiting list and they plan to accommodate all those agents who want to attend.
As I was walking through the hall, Wayne recognized me, from Activerain of course. I was very excited to meet him. By the way, the man can dress!
Now in those 4 hours I learned a few things. So for you people who think you are experts and need no additional tips to sell pre-foreclosures and short sales...you are mistaken. I gained a few things from him and it may save a deal that I am working on.

This training was exceptional! I received a book filled with tips and handling short sales and pre-foreclosures from start to finish. A CD with forms and spreadsheets for better calculations.
There were many agents asking quality questions. I really learned a lot and I enjoyed myself. I found him to be full of knowledge and information. I can't wait to report back to our Board of Realtors and for our agents sake....I hope we follow suit.
