Hauppauge Long Island is a Hamlet in Islip Township and The Town of Smithtown, Suffolk County New York, which is divided by Townline Road. It borders in both the Hauppauge School District  #6 and The Smithtown School District #1.  For general information on the Hauppauge School District, the phone number is 631-265-3630. There is the High School, Middle School and 3  Elementary Schools in this area. Smithtown School District information can be found at 631-382-2000.

 

Much of Hauppauge Long Island consists of nice suburban developments. The homes have many architectural designs including Colonials, Ranches, Victorian, Capes, Farm Ranch, Split Level, Victorian, Post Modern, Contemporary and Hi-Ranch floor plans.

The Hauppauge Industrial Park, located at the edge of the this hamlet, is the largest on Long Island.  The companies in the industrial park provide the tax revenue that makes up the bulk of the Hauppauge School District's budget. As a result, school taxes for residents are relatively low, while the budget for schools is actually higher than usual. It is noted for its well-funded schools, and many after-school activities.
