Spring or Fall?
Should we list our home for sale in the spring or fall? That's a question I'm being asked a lot recently. People worry that the main 'season' for home selling is in the spring and summer. Perhaps it is...but, fortunately, the Dallas/Fort Worth market is strong through the fall months.
Here's the advantages of placing your house on the market in the fall season...
1. Numbers. There are fewer homes on the market. Your home has a good chance of being seen, noticed, and appreciated in a smaller market.
2. The kiddoes are in school. During the summer months, you must pack up the kids every time the house is shown. In the fall, at least a few of those showings will be during school hours. Much easier.
3. Serious buyers A buyer searching during the fall months is a serious buyer. Perhaps they have a goal of having their family in a home in time for the holidays. A goal oriented buyer is a focused buyer.
