Being a bedroom community to Fairbanks. :) North Pole is smack dab in between Ft. Wainwright Army Post and Eielson Air Force Base. I'm just a little over 12 miles from my office in downtown Fairbanks. As for Fairbanks, we're a government town; the major employers are the State and Federal Gov't followed not too far behind by the oil services sector and the military. We're at the end of the road but it's a great place to live... well, if you don't mind -60 or so for a few weeks in the winter. :)

I like the cold.......but not THAT cold!
We went to Alaska in July 2006. Other than an occasional drizzle/rain is was beautiful!
