Paul - I am a dad. Let me tell you something young man. There is not a bear big enough to deal with a determined father. Of course, I am assuming he is armed and has rapid transportation nearby. I shall check his post and apply a little pressure to share here. We old farts need one another. In a crowd, we can always mock the young and pontificate about how it was when we were young.

I'm a dad as well, and you can bet that I share your sentiment.  I can move mountains when motivated.  If my father happens to run into said bear, you can bet that he'll walk away with a new listing.  Got any buyers for a 2 bed /0 bath cave?

Paul- I think your Dad has his priorities straight.  Being on a hiking/camping adventure sounds like a lot of fun.  I will have to check out his post.

This is awesome.  I think I saw him on Pinnacle Peak trail.  He was carrying a big gulp from seven eleven and had white zinc oxide on his nose to keep from getting sun burned.

Paul, No wonder your dad hasn't found the time to blog, he is always out having fun. I remember his one and only post and I remember commenting there. That won't stop me from stopping back by to rattle his door knob. Just think, if he does indeed have a chance to bare-handedly wrestle a bear, a wolf, a coyote, a javalina, a few jackrabbits or even a road runner or two he should have plenty of fodder for the grist mill. If he simply captures images of our awesome Arizona scenery (including to-die-for sunsets) then he need only write less than half as many words as I've used here to be included in the 50 word minimum for validation of posting a spectacular blog. 

Hope your dad has a great trip.  I too work with my dad.  Do you find that when he is away that is when you get the busiest?  Off to visit his 1 blog!

Thank you William.  We have as close a relationship as a father and son can have.  As for tracking those humans, he likes to let his partner handle that when possible while he goes and plays Grizzly Adams!  I appreciate you dropping in on his blog.

Spoken like a native, Chris!  It's safe to say that the bear maulings in Pinnacle Peak are limited, though ;)  Of course, the zinc oxide is always a good idea here.  The worst sunburn I've ever gotten was up north in the White Mountains ... ice fishing.  Honest to God, my nose was purple.

There's always room for another Slaybaugh, Brian!  We've got this community surrounded!  Back in the day, he would only have needed his left arm to subdue the bears.  He's in his college and high school halls of fame for wrestling, and led a recon unit as an Army Ranger in Vietnam.  Bears do not want any part of him, trust me.

Paul, wow, I can only imagine what would happen if you had the Slaybaugh tag team let loose on the bear!  With your Dad's skills combined with your amazing neck, the bears would be running for their lives.

If only he had a camera, Yvonne.  Unfortunately, he packs as ultrlight as possible, so a camera was not an option (unless he picked up a light disposable).  I am just sick that I missed this trip.  I was also supposed to accompany him on an excursion to the Boundary Waters which border Minn. and Canada last year.  Alas, business and the little ones had other plans for me.  I would be much obliged if you did buzz his tower again to solicit his participation around here.  I think you guys will all get a kick out of him.

Absolutely, Dawn!  We actually work independently on many things.  He has his clients, I have mine, and we have a few mutual clients.  We do farm the planned community of McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale together because we both have ties there, and our advertising bucks go a lot further.  Regardless, all of his deals seem to hit panic mode as soon as he hits the trail.  The phone just doesn't stop ringing with calls like, "Hi Paul, your father sold us a house 12 years ago, and the plumbing is really giving us trouble lately ..."

Paul, Where's your Dad?  No response or update on his blog.  Kind of figured he'd have something to say to you.  You know, we're done with the firefighters and rescue workers here where I live near Malibu (for now, anyway!).  I can send them over to the Great Big Forest of Bears.  Just let me know.
